Temperature:

Throughout the year, the average day temperature is 23-26 ° C, the night 14-16 ° C, and the daily difference is 9-11 ° C.

Humidity:

Elia's Sigmatostalix needs the average humidity of 85-90% throughout the year.

Substrate, growing media and repotting:

Sigmatostalix eliae are suitable for mounting on cork or tree fern washers. In this case, you must ensure high humidity and sprinkling at least once a day during the summer. In the case of exceptionally dry and warm weather, it may be necessary to spray several times a day. These plants also grow well in pots or baskets with excellent drainage. The substrate should be very loose and must allow quick root drying after watering.

Watering:

In the natural habitat, rainfall is abundant throughout the year. The cultivated plants should be abundantly watered during active growth, but excellent drainage and root aeration should be ensured. When the plants do not grow actively, you can slightly reduce the amount of water.

Fertilizer:

Weekly use of 1/4-1/2 of the recommended dose of orchid fertilizer is recommended. You can use sustainable fertilizer throughout the year, but also spring to mid-summer use high-nitrogen fertilizer, and then until the end of autumn, high-phosphoric fertilizer.

Rest period:

In winter, you can slightly reduce the amount of water, especially Sigmatostalix eliae grown in dark, short days at moderate latitudes. However, they can never dry up completely. When the amount of water decreases, the fertilization should also be reduced, and when the growth of new increments starts in spring, the amount of water and fertilization increases.
