Cultural information should only be used as a guide, and should be to be adapted to suit you. Light:
Dendrobium lituiflorum needs a light level of 30000-45000 lux.
Temperature:
The average temperature of the summer day is 29-30 ° C, night 20 ° C, giving a daily difference of 9-10 ° C. In spring, the average day temperature is 31-33 ° C, the night 15-20 ° C, giving a daily difference of 11-16 ° C. The average temperature of the winter day is 26-29 ° C, night 8-11 ° C, giving a daily difference of 16-18 ° C.
Humidity:
From spring to end of autumn, The Bent-Raceme Dendrobium needs the humidity of 75-80%, in winter and at the beginning of spring it drops to almost 60%.
Substrate, growing media and repotting:
Dendrobium lituiflorum is best to grow on tree rootstocks or cork due to the hanging habit, if moisture is high and summer watering is done at least once a day. When growing in small pots or baskets, any loose, quickly drying substrate is recommended. Repotting is best done when new roots grow.
Watering:
This species should be often watered from spring to autumn, with only a slight drying between waterings. In autumn, when new growths reach maturity, the amount of water should be gradually reduced.
Fertilizer:
Weekly use of a 1/2 dose of orchid fertilizer is recommended. From spring to mid-summer, high-nitrogen fertilizer should be used, and then until the end of autumn high-phosphoric fertilizer.
Rest period:
Over the period of 3-5 winter months, Dendrobium lituiflorum should dry out completely between waterings, but they can not stay dry for too long. Occasional morning fogging between waterings should keep the plants in good condition and not allow too much drying. Fertilization should be eliminated until spring, when the amount of water increases.
