Light:
Dendrobium friedericksianum needs a light level of 20000-30000 lux.
Temperature:
The average temperature of the summer day is 31 ° C, night 24 ° C, giving a daily difference of 7 ° C. In spring, before the beginning of the summer rainy season, the average day temperature is 33-34 ° C, night 22-24 ° C, giving a daily difference of 9-11 ° C. In winter the average day temperature is 31-33 ° C, the night 19-21 ° C, giving a daily difference of 12-13 ° C.
Humidity:
Friederick's Dendrobium needs a humidity of 85% from late spring to autumn, then drops to 70-75% in winter.
Substrate, growing media and repotting:
Dendrobium friedericksianum can be grown mounted on tree ferns or cork, with high humidity and summer watering at least once a day. If they are grown in pots, a very loose, fast-drying substrate should be used. Repotting can be done at any time as soon as new roots grow.
Watering:
Precipitation is very abundant for 6 months from late spring to autumn, with a 3-month drought period in winter. In the summer, the plants should be constantly moist, and during the hot sunny weather, daily watering may be necessary. In autumn, the amount of water should be gradually reduced.
Fertilizer:
Weekly or every 2-week 1/4-1/2 dose is recommended. Balanced fertilizer should be used for a round year.
Rest period:
In winter, the amount of water should be limited to Dendrobium friedericksianum. Between waterings they should dry a little, but can not be dry for a long period. Occasional morning fogging between waterings, especially during periods of sunny weather, will be beneficial for plants. In winter, fertilization should be reduced or eliminated.
