DENDROBIUM SINOMINUTIFLORUM CARE AND CULTURE
Cultural information should only be used as a guide, and should be to be adapted to suit you. Your physical location; where you grow your plants, how much time you have to devote to their care, and many other factors, will need to be taken into account. Only then can you decide on the cultural methods that best suit you and your plants.
Light:
Dendrobium sinominutiflorum needs a light level of 25000-35000 lux. In summer and autumn, the light should be filtered.
Temperature:
The average temperature of the summer day is 27 ° C, night 19 ° C, giving a daily difference of 8 ° C. The average temperature of the winter day is 20-25 ° C, the night 8-9 ° C, giving a daily difference of 11-17 ° C.
Humidity:
For most of the year, The Chinese Minute Flowered Dendrobium needs the humidity of 80-90%, but in the period of 3 spring months it drops to 65-70%.
Substrate, growing media and repotting:
Dendrobium sinominutiflorum can be mounted on tree rootstocks or cork, if high humidity is ensured and watering is done at least once a day in summer. When growing in pots, any loose, quickly drying substrate is recommended. Repotting can be done at any time when new roots are growing.
Watering:
From spring to autumn, precipitation is moderate to heavy, but it is drier during 4-5 winter months. This plants should be constantly moist during active growth, but in the autumn the amount of water should be reduced.
Fertilizer:
It is recommended to apply a 1/4-1/2 dose of orchid fertilizer weekly. From spring to mid-summer, high-nitrogen fertilizer should be used, and then until the end of autumn high-phosphoric fertilizer.
Rest period:
In winter, the amount of water should be limited to the Dendrobium sinominutiflorum, they should only be very slightly moist. They can dry a little between waterings, but they can not stay dry for too long. With reduced amount of water, the fertilization should also be reduced.
