When you have just bought the plant, cut the old roots neatly, just about 1 cm from the rhizome, if the roots are thick, use scissors to prick, prune and thin, fewer roots will stimulate new roots grow faster. Flush with clean water, soaking the whole plant into a solution of root growth like B1 or Atonik about 1-2 hours and then planted. The most suitable cultivate is logs. We use plastic wires, nylon strings to keep the rootstock firm with the cultivate. We should limit the use of metal materials because after a while it will rust, young roots grow out may be damaged. Depending on the climate situation of the plantation, if the wind is blowing continuously or hot sun drying, we add a little bit of coconut fiber from the root 1-2 cm to better moisturize, not cover all the root because it will cause rotten roots due to waterlogging.

  2. I have been growing this plant in bark for years, I found this plant needs lots sun light, it flowers every year after I moved it in the east face windowsill, and the flower spike will only come out old branches, at least 2 years old, not on new one, so I think one year in moss still too early to say it is not good. hope this help.
