IDENTIFY PESCATORIA KLABOCHORUM
Pescatoria klabochorum is native to Ecuador and Colombia, west of Queremal. They grow in wet forests on mossy tree trunks low to the ground, at altitudes around 700 to 1600 meters.
It is a warm to cool growing, medium-sized epiphyte with lack of pseudobulbs, that has several lancet, 30-38 cm long leaves which are folded along the centerline and arranged in two rows, forming an open array.
The Klaboch Brother's Pescatoria blooms in the later winter, spring and early summer on an axillary, short to 10 cm, single flowered inflorescence with a very fragrant, long-lasting flower that is held below the leaves. The flowers are 9-10 cm in diameter. The outer whorls and shorter petals of the inner whorl are spread out, white on the base and curved at the apexes that have a chocolate-purple color. PESCATORIA KLABOCHORUM CARE AND CULTURE
Cultural information should only be used as a guide, and should be to be adapted to suit you. Your physical location; where you grow your plants, how much time you have to devote to their care, and many other factors, will need to be taken into account. Only then can you decide on the cultural methods that best suit you and your plants.
Light:
Pescatoria klabochorum needs a light level of 24000 lux. The light should be dispersed because cloudless days are rare in a natural habitat.
Temperature:
The average temperature of the day throughout the year is 19-20 ° C ° C, night 16 ° C, which gives a small daily difference of 4 ° C.
Humidity:
The Klaboch Brother's Pescatoria needs the humidity of 85-90% throughout the year.
Substrate, growing media and repotting:
You can use moss-covered mats with sphagnum moss if you can provide high humidity. For cultivation in pots, you can use chopped woody fern or perlite fiber. Repotting is best done only when it is necessary and when new roots are growing.
Watering:
It is recommended to keep the plant constantly moist, although in natural habitats the beginning of winter is a bit more dry. The rainfall pattern is wet throughout the year.
Fertilizer:
The plants should be fertilized with 1/4 of the recommended dose of fertilizer for orchids every second or every third watering.
Rest period:
There is no rest period, which means in winter, you do not need to reduce the amount of water and fertilizer for the Pescatoria klabochorum. The growing conditions should be the same throughout the year.
