RODRIGUEZIA DECORA CARE AND CULTURE
Cultural information should only be used as a guide, and should be to be adapted to suit you. Your physical location; where you grow your plants, how much time you have to devote to their care, and many other factors, will need to be taken into account. Only then can you decide on the cultural methods that best suit you and your plants.
Light:
Rodriguezia decora needs a light level of 20000-30000 lux.
Temperature:
The average temperature of the summer day is 25-27 ° C, and the summer night 18-19 ° C, which gives a daily difference of 7-8 ° C. The average temperature of the winter day is 20-21 ° C, and the night 13 ° C, giving a daily difference of 7-8 ° C.
Humidity:
The Pretty Rodriguezia needs the humidity of 80-85% from late spring to late autumn, and it drops to around 75% in winter and early spring.
Substrate, growing media and repotting:
The slightly creeping cut of the Rodriguezia decora suggests its cultivation on rootstocks.
Watering:
Precipitation in the natural habitat is relatively large for most of the year, but 2-3 winter months are a bit more dry, although it is not a real dry season. The plants should be abundantly watered for most of the year, but drainage should be perfect so that they dry a little between watering. The amount of water should be slightly reduced in late autumn when new growths reach maturity.
Fertilizer:
Weekly use of 1/4-1/2 dose of fertilizers during active growth is recommended. You can use a balanced fertilizer, or use high nitrogen fertilizer from spring to mid summer, then high phosphoric fertilizer from mid-summer to autumn.
Rest period:
In winter, Rodriguezia decora need less water, especially when they grown on short, dark days in moderate altitude, or when grown at lower temperatures. However, they can not remain without water for a longer period of time, and water should be supplied to them so as to protect the pseudobulbs against wrinkling. Fertilization should be reduced or completely eliminated until new growths appear and normal spring watering begins.
