The flowers are less than 2.5 cm in diameter. The sharp petals of both whorls may be white, cream-yellow or greenish-white. They are straight. The center plot has uneven edges, a small indent at the top and three raised lines in the center.

Cultural information should only be used as a guide, and should be to be adapted to suit you. Your physical location; where you grow your plants, how much time you have to devote to their care, and many other factors, will need to be taken into account. Only then can you decide on the cultural methods that best suit you and your plants.

Light:

Dendrobium oligophyllum needs a light level of 30000-35000 lux.

Temperature:

 The average temperature of the summer day is 29-31 ° C, the night 20-21 ° C, giving a daily difference of 9-10 ° C. In spring, the average day temperature is 33-34 ° C, the night 20-22 ° C, giving a daily difference of 11-14 ° C. In winter the average day temperature is 28-31 ° C, night 14-18 ° C, giving a daily difference of 13-15 ° C.

Humidity:

The Few Leafed Dendrobium needs the average humidity of 75-85% from summer to late autumn, and then in winter it falls to around 60%.

Substrate, growing media and repotting:

Dendrobium oligophyllum are best grown on tree rootstocks or cork, with high humidity and watering in summer at least once a day. It is recommend to hanging plants just above eye level, because then flowers are best seen. When growing in pots, any loose, quickly drying substrate can be used. Repotting is best done in early spring, when new roots grow.

Watering:

From spring to autumn, this species should be constantly moist, with only slight drying between waterings, but at the end of autumn, when new increments reach maturity, the amount of water should be reduced.

Fertilizer:

It is recommended to apply a 1/4-1/2 dose of orchid fertilizer weekly. From spring to mid-summer, high-nitrogen fertilizer should be used, and then until the end of autumn high-phosphoric fertilizer.

Rest period:

In winter, the amount of water should be reduced and allow the Dendrobium oligophyllum to dry completely between waterings. Give only enough water to prevent pseudobulbs and leaves from wrinkling. Occasional fogging in bright, sunny mornings is usually sufficient. However, dry season does not have to be as long or as severe as given and some growers say that these plants should be kept moist throughout the year. Fertilization should be eliminated whenever plants do not show active growth.
