Temperature:

It is a plant with moderate thermal requirements. The average temperature in summer is 27-28 ° C, at night 16-17 ° C, which gives a daily difference of 11 ° C. In spring, the average day temperature is 29-30 ° C, the night 13-16 ° C, which gives a daily difference of 14-16 ° C. In winter, the average day temperature is 26-27 ° C, night 10-11 ° C, with a daily amplitude of about 16 ° C.

Humidity:

The Marbled Epidendrum needs the humidity in summer and early autumn of probably around 75%. In winter and spring, it falls probably to about 60%.

Substrate, growing media and repotting:

Epidendrum marmoratum can be attached to pieces of cork or tree ferns, with high humidity and watering at least once a day during the summer. If grown in pots, it is recommended to use a very loose, permeable substrate, such as large pieces of bark or cork. It is recommend to use small pots, just right to hold the roots. Repotting should be done when new roots start growing or immediately after flowering.

Watering:

During active growth from the summer and early autumn, Epidendrum marmoratum should lightly dry between waterings. For 6-7 months from late autumn until spring, the plants should be kept very dry between waterings.

Fertilizer:

During the active growth, the plants should be fertilized every week 1/4-1/2 of the recommended dose of fertilizer for orchids. You can use fertilizers with less nitrogen and higher phosphorus in the autumn, which results in better flowering in the next season and allows you to strengthen new growth before winter. In order to avoid the accumulation of mineral deposits during the period of strong fertilization, it is recommended to rinse the ground in summer every month.

Rest period:

For 6-7 winter months, Epidendrum marmoratum should be fogged from time to time and possibly lightly watered if the leaves and pseudobulbs start to wrinkle or show other disturbing signs.
